The BEST Offensive Drill Ever Created - "The 6 Pointed Star"
The BEST Offensive Drill Ever Created - "The 6 Pointed Star"
It's dear to my heart because I've spend 100's of hours doing this drill in my early 20's.
It's designed by Bert Kinister and in my opinion there is no offensive drill that is more complete for all aspects of your offensive game. If you can master this then you know in your heart you can run racks and get from any place to anywhere on the table.
Work hard on this and the rewards are yours 😀 💪

Always loved watching your videos. I've learned so much over this last year. However, today you got me really confused. In your first runout you picked a route that included a 14-11 combo after taking the 12, then 13 down the rail. I was thinking that after the 12, the next logical ball would be the 15, followed by 10-9 combo to shape on the 13. Any shape on that ball would have given you the finish on the 14 to the same pocket and then the 11 to either corner giving you shape on the 8. I realise you're the man in the competitions, and I'm the man sitting here learning, ergo, you know a whole lot more than I do. So my question is: did I miss something?

I learned to jump a ball, 30 years ago, from a pro. Using a jump cue, is pretty much cheating. The jump cue has so little mass, jumping a ball becomes effortless. You should be able to jump a ball with >1” separation, consistently. Why not just use a shaft with a hollow extended end protector, for even less mass? 🙄 Try jumping with a full cue. The closer your jump, the more skill it takes. In most instances, you only need to jump the edge of a ball. If you find yourself needing to jump a whole ball often, you are doing something wrong.

.... in many of those shots the cue ball is flirting with the pockets. You can be confident when you are playing on a table that you know very well, but when the conditions are not ideal that cue ball is going to scratch ....

Tim

great drill for sure, but I think you should be playing all 3 1 ball positions with the balls in rotation counter clockwise and clockwise because you're not practicing many of the critical shots on both sides of the table (like that 1 tip of left shot from the 4 to the 5 at 17:10). so really there's 30 drills to practice lol.
